QNET’s Social Impact Arm and ASA Foundation Collaboration Project Wins Gold at ISDA Award 2021
HONG KONG, October 4, 2021 / PRNewswire / – A sports-based social intervention program jointly launched by RYTHM Foundation and the ASA Foundation was announced as the Gold recent winner Indonesian SDG 2021 Award (ISDA). The award is part of an ongoing annual collaboration between the Corporate Forum for CSR Development (CFCD) and the Indonesian Ministry of National Development and Planning to support indonesia alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (United Nations SDGs).
RYTHM Foundation is the social impact arm of QI Group, the head quarter of QNET. QNET is a growing e-commerce based direct selling company with a long history in Indonesia. The foundation is based on the principles of empowerment, volunteerism and resilience to create positive and lasting change in the community.
In 2019, the RYTHM Foundation joined forces with ASA Foundation, an NGO focused on education and empowerment in Indonesia which strives to help vulnerable youth through sustainable social impact programs through schools and community projects, to fund and support a 3-year sports-based social intervention program. The award-winning program is designed to focus on United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality education) by improving the quality of education for young people and vulnerable adults in Indonesia.
The project started in 2019 with a 3-day training of trainers (ToT) workshop in Tangerang, Banten, Indonesia, for 36 local teachers to develop their capacity to deliver an effective sports education development and empowerment program to vulnerable young men and women, focusing on key topics such as health, hygiene, skills life and gender equality. The teachers were then placed in several junior high schools across Tangierang implement their learning, with the aim of transforming the lives of more than 9,700 high school students throughout the program by equipping them with life skills, instilling healthy behaviors and instilling in them a positive attitude and good values to prepare them to enter society as responsible adults. Throughout the duration of the program, the ASA Foundation also organized weekly mentoring and assessment sessions with teachers to monitor teaching progress and results.
The 3-year program aims to achieve the following objectives:
- Transmit the values associated with sport to promote positive attitude changes
- Promote physical activity and healthy behaviors through sport among youth and young adults
- Promote gender equality
- Help participants feel empowered and develop their self-confidence
- Provide a safe space for meeting, dialogue and exchange in order to promote cohesion and social inclusion
- Obtain support from local government departments (DINAS Pendidikan & DISPORA) for future CSR projects and activities
