James Wiseman posterizes Porzingis at the start of the Japanese Games

The James Wiseman hype train is about to leave the station once again. The 7-foot center showed off some of his immense athleticism in the Golden State Warriors’ first preseason contest at the 2022 Japan Games.

Wiseman also didn’t choose a small target to put on a poster, corner him on 7’3″ tall man Kristaps Porzingis:

James Wiseman was the best player on the pitch in his time on the pitch. He was one of three Warriors players to play over 20 minutes of action, alongside Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody. In just under 24 minutes, he had 20 points and nine rebounds on a stellar 8-for-11 shooting clip. It’s no surprise he barely missed considering a handful of those baskets were powerful snaps on the edge.

He also connected on a sweet pick-and-roll piece with Stephen Curry for easy highlighting:

James Wiseman adds another dimension to the Warriors offense that they sorely lacked. With Draymond Green undersized while aging and Kevon Looney limited in athletic ability and upside, Wiseman brings a dynamic skill set to the center position that Golden State has never had since the start of the Stephen Curry era.

The promise for him to do so has been there since day one, but injuries prevented him from really showing it early in his career. With the Warriors showing the utmost caution with their precious youngster, this could be the season he rewards them for their patience.
