IOC’s Bach hails Japan’s coordination behind Sapporo 2030 bid
LAUSANNE, Switzerland – International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach said on Tuesday that close cooperation between the Japanese Olympic Committee and the country’s various levels of government is a boon for Sapporo as a candidate to host the 2030 Winter Games.
The capital of Hokkaido, which hosted the 1972 Winter Olympics, has expressed interest in hosting the 2030 Games and faces rival offers from Salt Lake City and Vancouver, which previously hosted in 2002 and 2010, respectively.
