Humble Games and Happy Ray Games Announce Physical Version of Ikenfell; Japanese localization and release in November
Publisher Humble Games and developer Happy Ray Games have announced that their critically acclaimed indie RPG, Ikenfell, will receive physical release on PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch through a partnership with Limited Run Games. Pre-orders for this physical edition will be available on September 24, 2021, via Limited Run Games official website.
In addition, the title will finally receive a Japanese localization thanks to a partnership with the Tokyo-based company. 8-4, Ltd. This version of Ikenfell will be released to Japanese audiences on PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in November.
Ikenfell tells the story of a group of magic students who find themselves on an adventure on the themes of friendship, trust, love and loss. The game will allow players to create groups of 3, with six characters available in total. There are 48 different spells to use in combat that include elemental and status damage. Encounters have layers of strategy through movement around the battlefield. There are over 100 enemies to encounter, as well as 22 boss fights.
Players can also explore the environments to discover more powerful equipment and magic. If that wasn’t enough for you, the soundtrack was produced by the composers of Steven Universe.
